Recently we’ve won the Third prize in the Barcelona FinApps Party, a 24 hours developing marathon of mobile financial aplications.

App Pay and Play Loyalty Points

Our project is called “Pay & Play” and is a virtual 3D payment gateway that works with NFC and/or other ways, with a customizable avatar representing the customer, geolocalization of the commerce to include direct promotions and/or ads from the local shop, and finally a fun score of the loyalty points (punts estrella) gained with your purchase.

And we really integrated the “La Caixa” API (Library, Framework) to do the payments, check the credit cards, read the loyalty points…

We tried to do an interface where the user can feel confident with the virtual world, have fun with the gameplay and feel identified with the avatar.

I deployed here a version without API connection, so the actions are simulated:

 


Face, Go & Rotate

Besides, I performed and upgraded a different branch of the application version just to show the potential of the avatar state machine.

I call it “Face, Go & Rotate”

He/she can move anywhere in a smooth way: stopping, facing the new destination, walking and finally rotating to the desired direction direction. All with the appropiate animations and transicions.

Recently I developed a Flash Version of Citrus Game to test that new possibility offered by Unity Game Development Software.
Many drastic adjustments were necessary to make it work in Flash:

  • Chop Terrain into grid, because the Terrain Tool don’t work in Flash.
  • Modify and adapt all the physics, as the enemies jammed and behaved very differently due to the adjustments made.
  • Control: addition of a sidebars to rotate the player, because the flash can not use the right mouse button to focus (Who was initially my idea). Neither work other keys. ZOOM also adapted as the Mouse Wheel isn’t working with Flash.
  • Adapt all iTween PLUGIN code, that I use intensively.
  • Optimize the enemies code as that slows down the game.
  • Simplify texture, shader, sky and water.
  • Adapt Fonts.

It’s my Final Multimedia Degree Project. It has two levels and it’s very important to use both keyboard and mouse controls together. I hope you enjoy it.

Ja podeu jugar amb el Citrus Game!

Agafes el paper d’una mandarina que ha de sobreviure en un món on la resta de cítrics s’han tornat malvats. A més has d’averiguar-ne la causa.

És el meu Treball Final del Grau en Multimèdia, que hauré de presentar en breu. Té dos nivells i és molt important utilitzar els controls de teclat i ratolí al mateix temps.  Espero que us agradi.

Un Shoot-em-up 2D en vista d’ocell, amb multitud d’armes i molta sang. El punt diferenciador del joc és afegir el concepte “PINBALL” (Lifeball) al clàssic joc d’acció per afegir interès i dificultat en la conducció. D’aquesta manera, el protagonista, muntat a sobre d’una taula-flotant-auto-impulsada, rebota contra les parets i els enemics.

Un altre punt interessant és el senzill i innovador maneig, barreja de teclat per dirigir el personatge i el mouse per apuntar, escollir arma i disparar.

Tècnicament implementa alguns algoritmes complexos: Els escenaris poden ser immensos, per això utilitzo quaternio per a les colisions i la visualització, hi ha inteligencia artificial pels enemics, sistemes de partícules, física complexa per a les colisions i les reaccions, etc…

He penjat dos versions, una amb l’aventura una mica més completa en 3 fases i l’altre per poder testejar les armes de forma ràpida.
